Does my child have to tryout to make a team?

Everyone who signs up will be placed on a regular season team.  The assessments are a chance for coaches to evaluate talent before picking their team.  Teams are picked through a draft process.  If a player misses the assessment, they will still be placed on a team.

Can my child play "up" in an older age division?

If you believe your child is ready to play a level above their age division (eg. age 8 playing in 10U, age 10 playing in 12U ,etc), then you should register and try out for that older level they wish to play in.  At the assessments it will be decided whether younger-aged players are ready to play at that level.

*Price differences will be resolved after the child is placed on their team if they are not selected to play "up"

What is the minimum age to play?

To play T-Ball your child must turn 5 by July 1, 2022

What about Summer All Star teams?

Tryouts will be held for all age groups listed below. Summer All-Star teams are comprised of players from all 5 programs under the CO-County Youth Baseball organization.  Our goal is to have as many youth play competitive summer baseball as possible. To that end we will field 10U and 12U All-Star teams. If we have enough participation and Coaches, possibly a 9U, 11U, and 13U team, but only after we have fielded the 10U & 12U teams.

What are CO-County Elite teams in the Spring?

Middleton Baseball Association is a member of CO-County Youth Baseball.   CO-County is the parent organization for 5 Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth programs in Canyon and Owyhee counties in the southwest portion of Idaho:  Middleton, Vallivue, Caldwell, Homedale & Marsing.

Players looking for a high level of play can try out for a spring CO-County Elite team for their age in February 2022.  These teams are comprised of top players from the 5 CO-County partner programs, and play in local and surrounding tournaments against other high level elite and club teams.  There are some additional costs if chosen.  Players who are not chosen for an Elite team, will then try-out for the Competitive or Rec level teams in Middleton Baseball.  In the summer, players also get a fresh shot at making the top All-Star team, after using the spring season to improve and show their skills.

League Boundaries

To be eligible for play in MBA, a player must either 1) attend or be attending a school within the Middleton School District, or 2) live within the Middleton School District Boundary.
